JULY'S TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP PROJECTS

This month at Stamp Group I taught the ladies how to do the Heated Ribbon Technique. It's so cool to watch the ribbon shrink to the design that you want just by putting the heat tool next to the ribbon. I used all products from SU, Sticky Sheet cut from the 2nd largest size circle on the Circle #2 Big Shot die. I used about a 19" piece of the Old Olive Satin Ribbon cut at 1" intervals, about 1/8" in all the way down the length of the ribbon. Take off one side of the Sticky Sheet and start pleating the ribbon all the way around until you get to the middle. Heat the ribbon up until it looks like you want it. Cut the same size circle of C/S to match the ribbon. Put that on the back side of the sticky strip after pulling off the white backing of the sticky strip. Put a pearl or something in the middle of the ribbon flower and you're done. The DSP is Beyond the Garden. The embossing folder is Flower Garden. The flowers were colored with Pastels. Everything was sponged with Early Espresso Ink.

This next card was CASE'D from My Creative Corner. I made a few small changes to it to make it mine. The flower was embossed with Winter White embossing powder on Pretty in Pink c/s & Certainly Celery for the leaves. The flower was popped up with Dimensionals. The color didn't come out very well. The DSP was Pink Pirouette polka Dots & the background white mat was ran thorough the Dotted Swiss Embossing Folder.

You will be making two of each of the three cards shown below. If you're like me I always want to keep one, but I like to give one away. This is your opportunity to do just that if you wish. You will also receive envelopes for each card. Two of the cards are 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", the other card is a cute 3"x 3" card which is great to put on a gift box or bag.

These cards will feature new items from the SU Summer Mini Catalog. I just love the new products that we will be using. Come play with the new clear mount stamp sets, The Open Sea, & Sail Boat. You'll love the new Baker's twine in Espresso & white, & Cherry & White that we'll be using on the cards. You'll get to see the new Nautical Expedition Designer Paper & put some on your cards. It is fabulous paper! We'll be doing a little water coloring with aqua pens. There will be cutting, tearing, sponging, sanding, heat embossing, etc. We'll also be using the new Postage Stamp Punch. If you want to learn a lot of techniques at one class you won't want to miss this one!

Stampin' Up Demo

MAY TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP PROJECTS

This is the first card that we made. I used the Swirly Texturz Template for the Big Shot along with the Texturz Silicone Rubber, & Impressions Pad onto River Rock Card stock. I sponged lightly with Soft Suede ink over the top of the swirly texture. Next I used Early Espresso Card stock and Soft Suede as the card base. The Early Espresso Corners were punched using the Photo Corners XL Punch. The Petals were punched using the new Blossoms Petal Punch. I stamped them with Pink Pirouette ink then sponged the edges with Melon Mambo. The leaves are from the same punch using Soft Suede and sponged with Early Espresso. The steams are hand cut. The pink 1/4" grosgrain is put only on the front part of the bottom of the card stock and the 3 smaller pieces are tied underneath the main ribbon. The silver brads are put on the end through the card.

This was the next card that we made. I taught the ladies in the group how to make the Daffodil flower. I did a 6x6 Technique card for it with all the directions on the card & a picture of the card. I used the Blossom Petal Flower Punch. I punched 6 Daffodil Delight leaves & one Big flower petal. I sponged them all with Daffodil Delight Ink on the tips. I used my bone folder to curl up the edges of the flowers and round the circle. I put glue dots on the back of each to adhere the petals & the Big Blossom Petal.The steams were hand cut out of Garden Green Card stock & tucked them in behind the flower. I used the Mat Pack & my Paper Piecer to make the holes above the Easter Wishes. The greeting came from All Holidays stamp set.The card stock I used was Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, & Bashful Blue. I used the 3/16th hole punch on the Crop-A-Dile to make the holes on the bottom of the card. I stitched Daffodil ribbon in & out of the holes. In the last hole I put a smaller piece of ribbon and tied a knot with the tail of the opposite ribbon. These cards look so much better in person.

MARCH 2011 Technique Stamp Group

We did this beautiful Cali Lily card during Stamp Group in March. I used the Blossom Petal Punch. Punch one big petal & two long leaves from Whisper White card stock. Punch two long leaves out of Wild Wasabi & two stems by hand. The stamens are cut by hand out of Daffodil card stock & sponged with Daffodil ink. The flower leaves are sponged lightly with Sahara Sand & also in the middle behind the stamen. The bottom of the flower is sponged with Wild Wasabi just a little bit. Stamp the greeting from the Easter Blossoms Stamp Set, punch out with the Large Oval Punch. Punch the Daffodil card stock with the Decorative Label punch and the Espresso card stock with the Modern Label punch. Put it together and pop it up if you like.

I apologize for the poor picture. This one used the new Embossing Texture folder, Framed Tulips. I love it! I also used the Big Shot to do the scalloped heart. I embossed it and punched it out. I did marker to the stamp set Punch Potpourri (Level 1 Hostess set) for the heart on top of the scalloped heart. The leaves are from the Bird Punch. The rest is pretty self explanatory.

Pictures from St. George Stamptacular

The Stitchedstamper's group that was formed by one of my Stampin' Up! managers, Loni Spendlove, put on a Stamptacular stamp day in St. George, UT at the beginning of March.You can tell by my picture that I was ready for some sleep. We left at 6:15 a.m. to get to St. George on time for the Stamptacular.

I made this cute Easter Wishes box as my "Swap" that we had at our morning demonstrator meeting. I also demonstrated how to make this cute box using the Movers and Shapers die for the Big Shot, in 10 minutes. This is my kind of project!! This box is just the right size to hold a giant candy bar! And who wouldn't want some chocolate on Easter?? :)

I invited all my stampin' buddies to come with me to this awesome event. I had 5 ladies that were able to attend with me. Here's a picture of some of them. My mom & Aunt Pam are the ones in the front by me and Maureen & Janet are on the far table. Diane is some where around stamping.
We had such a fun time and made some wonderful projects!

Update on SU Punches!!

News from SU!

December 21, 2010

As you know, we have been working to resolve quality issues with the Ornament Punch (item 119847) and the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch (item 118874). We want to update you on the status of these punches. Please note that because the quality issues are different for each punch, we have different plans for dealing with each punch.

2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch

We are currently testing new punch samples from our vendor. We are working as quickly as possible to complete testing. After we have completed testing and have approved modifications to the punch, we will begin production. When we have more information, we will let you know when these punches will be available to order.

Ornament Punch

We are currently inspecting the inventory we have in our warehouse to ensure that the punches we have in stock are working correctly. After we are satisfied with the quality of the inventory we have in stock, punches will be available to order.

We have been asked if the quality problems are due to the new body style and the punch changeover. We want to assure you and your customers that these quality issues are not related to the new body style; instead, individual metal pieces inside the punches are defective. These parts were also part of the old body style, and the defective parts are different for each punch.

We thank you for your patience as we strive to ensure that the products we sell are of the highest quality and value. We will update you on our progress as we work through these issues.

December's Stamp Group Projects

This month for my Stamp Group projects the technique was Faux Stained Glass. It uses Vellum, Versa Mark, Fine Black Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Blender Pen, White Gel Pen, & SU Markers. I had lots of the Deck the Halls DSP left so I used the scraps for the background of the card. I used the Artichoke seam binding & gathered it to add a little more dimension to the card. The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler. The Happy Holidays stamp came from a retired set called Warmest regards. I punched it out with the Modern Label punch & sponged it with Early Espresso. I colored the front of the vellum parts of Santa that should be white with the White Gel Pen and that gave it a lot of pop. It looks way better in person.

The members of my Stamp Group got a Fun item for their Christmas gift. It's a Bone White 6x6 China Heart box that they can decorate. A rub-on, or one of SU's small stencils would work great. I used the 4 pk of heart stencils from SU, and used the Craft Real Red Ink. I put Clear Embossing powder over the top and heat set it. It worked pretty good. I had to be really careful because in a few small spots it got a little over heated and turned the Embossing powder white. I would show you a picture, but due to copywright laws I guess the picture was blocked by the company that makes the Heart Box. So sorry!

What a wonderful time of the year. I love to drive down the street and see all the Christmas lights and decorations. When I go to people's homes I love to see how they decorated their trees. It always fun for me to use my SU products to make gifts for my friends and family. Of course it's also fun to receive gifts as well.
As we celebrate this holiday season may we all remember the real reason we celebrate. It's the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful for the birth of my Savior and for the sacrifice that he made that I may be forgiven of my sins. This song song my Celine Dion is one of my favorites and reminds me of the "Reason for the Season." Have a wonderful Holiday!!

MY HOLIDAY 9X9 FOLDING ALBUM ALL PUT TOGETHER

I got my finished pages that I'd been working on glued to my 9x9 folding album. This is one side of the album. It's hard to see all the glitter and detail on the pages.

This page took forever to come up with! I was trying to stick with only using one package of DSP & I only had two full sheets left. They both had patterns that I needed to use on the other pages. This is where I said... I have a bunch of 3 x 9 scraps that I can use, so I didn't stick with the scrap mat that I was given by my new Demo friend Tami Black. I knew that I wanted to use the Artichoke seam binding ribbon & some more of the Designer Big Buttons. I used the gathering trick with the seam binding. You take a few strands from the middle of the seam binding and start pulling them while holding the rest in your other hand. It will start to gather. I just moved the gathering down as it got more bunched up. If you move it down too far it will un-gather so you have to be careful.

I sponged the edges of the Cherry Cobbler card stock, & tab, & the Vanilla mat. I adhered the Cherry tab to the Vanilla mat. Next adhere the Poinsettia piece of DSP to the right side of the 9x9 Vanilla card stock. Next, take your 2-way glue pen and trace the W in WISH, then add the Champagne glitter glass. Do the same to each letter. Add adhesive to the Wish DSP on the left side, left half top, bottom, right side. Leave a slot for the Vanilla mat to go into. Adhere the Cherry Cobbler mat as shown. Put the Seam binding on with Sticky Strip or another strong adhesive. Put hemp through the button as shown and adhere with glue dots or a dimensional. This page can be sprayed or not with Shimmer mist.

This is one of my favorite pages. I love how the shadowing of the Peace & Love came out. The whole page just came together. It did take quite a while to work out all these pages. I'd say at least an hour or more per page. That's just the designing part.
Start with sponging all your regular card stock pieces with Soft Suede ink. I did the Peace & Love on the Big Shot. I used the Decorative Peace & Cheer word strip. I only used those words on the die cut strip. I put the Vanilla card stock on the Sizzix adhesive 12x12 paper and cut them them at 2"x 4" for the Peace &, then I cut 2 3/4" x 1"3/4" for the Love. I cut one where I laid the adhesive side down on the die cut and that gave me the sticky side facing on the top of the words. I pealed the paper off & then put SU fine gold glitter on the words. The next time I ran the card stock through the Big Shot I put the adhesive side facing up. This left the adhesive side on the back of the word. I sponged a little Soft Suede ink on the Peace, &, love and adhered them to the Cherry Cobbler DSP. I then put 2 way glue on the glittered Peace, &, and love, and adhered them on top of the other ones slightly above the other ones giving it a mirrored affect. Wrap the Cherry Cobbler Seam binding around the edges of the Soft Suede card stock and adhere at the back. Put dimensionals on all four corners. Adhere the Soft Suede patterned DSP at the top, next the Crumb Cake strip. Put adhesive on the 3 edges of the Cherry Cobbler DSP, and some to half of the right side, leaving a slot open for the Vanilla mat to go into. Adhere the Cherry tab onto the small Vanilla mat and put it into the Cherry Cobbler DSP slot. Adhere the Soft Suede piece to the DSP. I didn't use the Shimmer Mist on this page since it had enough sparkle.

Start with sponging the Vanilla card stock, the red envelope, & the edges of the Cherry Cobbler card stock with Soft Suede. The little envelope was made with the Petal card punch. Adhere the brown corner pieces to the larger Vanilla mat & add one dimensional to the back of each corner. Adhere the smaller DSP with mistletoe to the top of the 9x9 card stock, followed by the Cherry Cobbler strip. Adhere the brown DSP to the bottom of the page. Put the Victoria lace ribbon across the middle to hide the seam. Adhere the ends around the back. Poke one hole in each flap of the Cherry envelope with a paper piercer. Put the safety pin through the holes and close it. This is a little tricky. If you bend the envelope slightly it will help you close the safety pin. Put a glue dot or a small dot of glue under the flaps of the envelope so they stay down. This little safety pin comes in the SU Vintage Trinkets. Adhere the envelope to the DSP as well as the Vanilla mats as shown. You can Shimmer mist this page as well.

This page has a lot of details. Start by sponging all your Vanilla pieces, Cherry Cobbler card stock, & tab, & the Artichoke mat with Early Espresso or Soft Suede ink. Adhere the zig zags to the Vanilla card stock, & Cherry Cobbler tab. The zig zags were made using the new Designer Fabric from SU & the Sizzix adhesive sheets. Cut a thin strip of Artichoke card stock and thread through the red button. Use a few glue dots to attach the button or a dimensional. The button is from the Big Designer Buttons "Deck the Halls" pack. Adhere the tab to the smaller Vanilla mat. Adhere the other size Vanilla mat to the Artichoke mat. Put dimensionals on the back of the Artichoke piece one in each corner. Put one Dimensional in the four corners of the other Vanilla piece. Adhere the 4 DSP pieces to the Cherry Cobbler as shown. Add both of the Vanilla pieces to the DSP as shown. Put a thin line of adhesive on the bottom of the Vanilla piece that has the Vanilla mat with the tab. This way it won't fall out. You can add the Shimmer Paint with alcohol Mist to the page.

You'll start by sponging all you pieces with Soft Suede ink. Tie a knot in the Early Espresso ribbon & adhere the ends to the back of the Vanilla card stock. Adhere the Soft Suede piece to the 9x9 Vanilla card stock. Place the DSP squares & the Vanilla square on the Soft Suede card stock as shown. No dimensionals are used on this page.

This page was a quick page. Adhere the Mistletoe DSP to the left side of the 9x9 Very Vanilla card stock. Adhere the Soft Suede card stock to the very right edge of the 9x9 Very Vanilla card stock.

Sponge all the Vanilla & Soft Suede card stock. Put the Real Red eyelets in the Vanilla card stock. Adhere the Mistletoe tab onto the small Vanilla mat. Put a dimensional on each corner of the Vanilla mat without the eyelets. Put a thin line of adhesive at the bottom of that Vanilla mat & adhere it to the Soft Suede card stock about 1/8" from the bottom . Adhere the other Vanilla piece with the eyelets to the top leaving about 1/8" from the bottom. Put your small Vanilla mat into the slot on the bottom.

The pull out can be used for journaling or for another picture. You can fit 2 to 3 pictures on this page.

Page 2 was fun to do. It also has a pull out using the new Cherry Cobbler ribbon binding & a small button brad from the SU Vintage Trinkets. Always Artichoke was used for the mat & Cherry Cobbler Textured for the center card stock piece. I just love the Deck the Halls DSP! The corner edges were punched out of some scraps from the brown sides of one of the DSP pages. It's hard to tell on this picture, but all the centers of the pointsetta's have pearls. This page also uses the Champagne Shimmer Paint & alcohol mixture. It gives it that little sparkle to finish it off.

For those of you that are putting your kit together, pop up the Vanilla mat with dimensionals.

Put a small line of glue at the bottom of the vanilla mat so that the Artichoke mat doesn't fall through. Put your pearls on your poinsettas. Shimmer Mist your page if you'd like.

HOLIDAY 9X9 FOLDING ALBUM FINISHED! PAGE 1 OF THE ALBUM

I can't believe that my Holiday 9x9 Folding Album class is finally done and I have all 8 pages photographed. I had 5 ladies come over to make the album. We went page by page together. It took us 5 hours to complete the 8 pages. We had a short break in between. This was a big project to undertake. It was well worth it after seeing all the pages completed in the album. I also had 3 people order kits. I'm sure that these photo's won't do the pages justice.

This is page 1-There is a pull out for an extra photo or journaling. For those that are doing the kit, the top Soft Suede smooth sheet goes on the top, the textured piece is on the bottom. The DSP goes in the middle. Hold the two Soft Suede pieces of card stock together and adhere the DSP on top of the Soft Suede. Make sure to center it. Put a rhinestone in the middle of the red star burst if one isn't there for you already. Put a dimensional on the back of each ornament (Delightfully Decorations set). Tape the Gold cord on the top part of the ornament & make sure the Gold cord will fold over the top of the Soft Suede card stock. Adhere the ornament to the DSP where it should be and fold the Gold cord over the top & tape it. Do that with the other two ornaments. Put adhesive on the three sides of the Cobbler card stock, leaving one side open for the vanilla mat to pull in and out. *Make sure that the Soft Suede tab doesn't hang over the DSP. Edge everything with a sponge except the ornaments in Early Espresso or Soft Suede ink. Then spray with the Champagne Shimmer Mist solution.

It's so much prettier in person! I used the Deck the Halls Designer Paper. Delightful Decorations stamp set for the ornaments. I sprayed the whole page with Champagne Shimmer Mist and it's so sparkly! The Vanilla card stock pulls out where the Early Espresso tab is. You can use this for an extra picture or journaling.

NOVEMBER TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP

This card is one of the new techniques out there. I found it on Glenda Calkins blogh. I belive it was taught at one of the Stampin' Up Regionals. Basically, I ran the snowflakes through the Big Shot with my Northern Frost Die cut, pasted them on my Marina Mist card stock. I then put that into my Square Lattice Embossing Folder and ran that through my Big Shot. It's called Inlaid Embossing. It looks so cool! I did change up the brad & add the Champagne Shimmer mist, but for the most part it's the same.Thanks Glenda for your great card design!

We also did another really cute card which I'll post when I have a minute to take a picture of it.

OCTOBER TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP PROJECTS

This is the Technique that I taught at my Technique Stamp Group in October . It was called Faux Film Strip. This is not the best picture of this card, but you get the idea. I used the Polka Dot Embossing Folder on the White background of the card. I did the Happy Holidays tag by putting the tip in through the top of the Designer Label XL Punch. Then did the other tip of the tag the same way. The Spiral Border Punch was used to make the film strip look. I used A Cute Christmas stamp set to do the cute pictures. This is a fairly quick card to make. The squares are popped up with dimensionals.

This is a card that we made at Regionals in St. George, UT. I loved this card so much that I knew my Stamp Group would too. I changed the background color of the card stock that the white squares are sitting on and the leaf to Crumb Cake. It still looks great!

French Foliage Card Kit

I finally had a minute to edit my pictures and put the watermarks on, etc. The French Foliage Card kit was designed by Lynn Pratt. This card kit was my October Stamp Camp. The kits were very successful. I'm posting some close ups of the cards that I made so if you still need to put yours together you can look at these pictures.

The Leaf is popped up in this card. You will tie a knot on pne side of the Hemp and gauge where the other knot needs to be tied. I did this by laying down my saying & tying the knot close to the saying and adjusting the knot so that it looked even with the knot on the other side. The ends of the hemp go underneath the Mustard c/s.

This card is on it's side. I saved it right side up, but blogger wouldn't let me rotate it. Sorry!

When you do the box make sure you glue only the bottom tabs to the outside of the box.

The top of the box isn't shown. It attaches to the bottom of the box by the long flap at the bottom. The two sides will attach to the outsides of each side of the box. Glue them one at a time. The small tab with fit through the long slit. You can close your box with removeable adhesive, velcro or leave it open.

Birthday Gift Container Dressed up

I saw this cute little container filled with carmels at Wal-Mart. My boss at work was having a birthday and I wanted to dress this container up to give it to her. So I took the sticker off the front and used some old SU Designer Paper from a few mini catalogs ago. I believe it was a Valentine designer package. It has a bunch of sparkles on it. I used the Big Shot Circles #2 die to cut the designer paper out. Then I used the small Scallop Punch on Whisper White C/S & did some Chocolate Chip around the edges of it. I used the Single stamp called Sweet Birthday in the front of the Big Catalog and colored it with Regal Rose & the candle with Daffidol with my SU markers & and Blender Pen. I popped up the scallop with dimensionals. I used the Happy Bithday saying from the Sweet Birthday stamp which I cut off with my scissors and mounted on the side of the wood. I cut that out with the Word Window Punch and took my sponge and did some Chocolate Chip around the edges of it and popped that up as well. It really turned out cute! The picture didn't turn out so cute. I took these pictures with my cell phone and it was pretty dark.

SEPTEMBER HALLOWEEN STAMP CAMP!!

Are you ready to make some cute Halloween projects? I like to get an early start so I have time to make up some cute things for my friends at work & my youngest child's classmates.

Here's the details:

We'll be making 3 projects that are quick and easy and way cute!

Here's my Holiday M&M Owl. He's a disco dancer! You can make his wings move and he can be whatever you want him to be.

I'd like to give my owl a name. Please leave me a comment and help name him. Me and my kids will decide which name we like the best and the winner will get an owl!!

(Must be in the US, Sorry.)

Here's my Burgundy owl with his friend the retired Orange owl. They're both having so much fun hangin' out with their M&M dude. I know you just have to make one!! :)

Here's the next project we're doing which is a card using the Sweet Centers stamp set. I finally took my Tasteful Trim Die out of the Plastic and used it for the Wicked Specialty DSP along the side. Love the Spider embossing folder on the Rich Razzleberry c/s. I punched a circle from the 1 3/4" punch and then cut it out again with the next size circle punch to put on the outside of the card. The base of the card is Old Olive. When you open the card you see the EEK circle inside. This card was originally done by Dawn Griffith.

The last project is one of my favorite new dies or the Big Shot. It's the Candy Wrapper die.

I sprayed this with this with the Vanilla Smooth Spray to give it some sparkle. The spider is from a retired stamp set, but I can't get rid of it. I punched out the spider with a 1 1/4" circle punch & the Black mat was done with the 1 3/8" circle punch. The Rich Razzleberry paper is the Wicked Specialty DSP that I put through the Spider Web embossing folder. This die can also be made into a box by folding the ends a different way. It will hold a mini candy bar or maybe two depending if they're thin or thick ones. It's a must have in my book!!

September Technique Stamp Group Projects

This month for Technique Stamp Group we did some fun projects. The Island Floral flower was a tutorial that was done by Cristena Bagne. I just loved this flower and wanted to do a card with it. I designed the card & the colors for the flower. I used So Saffron, & Old Olive for the flower. Chocolate Chip w/the Circle #2 die, (lrg. circle) for the Big Shot. I used some retired Old Olive ribbon. I Scallop Edge Border punched the Chocolate Chip c/s, then took a paper piercer & poked a hole in each scallop, and put them under the Play Date DSP. Some sponging was done to the bottom edges of the card, & the scallop circle with Early Espresso ink. The leaves were sponged with Old Olive & the flower with So Saffron ink. This will be sure to get some oohs and aahs from your customers! I can see these on the tables at a wedding reception, party, or on top of a nice gift box.

What are some of your ideas of what you'd do with this flower idea??

I bought the stamp set Wicked Cool since I've seen so many neat things made with it. I saw a card that I thought was really cute and thought I'd CASE some of it. I don't remember now where I saw it, so if you know, please leave a comment. Or you can leave a comment if you like what you've seen so far.

The colors I used were, Rich Razzleberry for the card base, Old Olive in the Spider Web embossing folder, Wicked Cool DSP, Black c/s, White c/s, & the Bat Punch w/White gel pen for his eyes. I sponged the White c/s & the Old Olive c/s around the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink. I also used the Rich Razzleberry marker on the witches hat. I used dimensionals to pop up the hat, bat, & the stamped image. Do you see the sparkle on the Old Olive c/s? Take a really close look. It was sprayed with the Vanilla Smooth spray. It was the perfect finishing touch.

Pizza Box Pre-Convention Project

This is one of the projects that we made at the Pre-Convention event that the LVStampers held in July in Salt Lake City, UT. This was the project that was done by Keven T & his group. I just love it! It actually will fit one of those mini gummi pizza's in it.

August Technique Stamp Group Projects

This month's Stamp Group was at Desiree's house. She invited 4 of her good friends to come. One of them I haven't seen in years. It was so good to visit with her for a little bit.

I taught the "Thumping Technique" or a version of it. I used the Just Believe stamp set, which I love! See how the leaves have a darker ink on them. This is the "Thumping Technique". There's also some sponging with some of the new colors. The ribbon wave was done with the new Rich Razzleberry Taffeta ribbon.

The inside bottom of the card has a strip of Razzleberry that uses the White Frost Shimmer Paint and the stamp to give it a pretty sparkly effect. I designed this card and am happy to say that I think it turned out really nice. If you'd like any further information about it, please leave me a comment. Thanks!

Now for the 2nd card that we did that evening. It took us a while to get through both of these projects. We had 10 ladies come and we were laughing and having so much fun it was hard to stay on task. It was also time consuming since I only had one stamp set. I love this card! I saw a version of it on Angela Walford's Blog. I changed it up a little. I added White Gel Pen to the Scallop Border punch. I used Play Date DSP instead of the Poppy DSP. She used two buttons & I used a bitty button with c/s behind it & a thin piece of Daffodil Delight c/s through the button. Add a little twist at the end to get your tails & put on with a glue dot. I used the BoHo Blossom Punch for the other flower w/a black brad. The base card is Crumb Cake put through the SU Perfect Polka Dots Embossing folder. The sick chick was colored with Daffodil marker & blender pen. The flower was done with Real Red the same way.

Fun Simple Punch Art Projects

TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP PROJECTS!

These are the projects that we did last night at my Technique Stamp Group. If you're interested in learning how to do some great techniques to use in your scrapbooking and paper crafting, please email me before the end of August. I'll be starting my next group in September. I have 3 or 4 openings right now. If you are in my group and you couldn't make it, please email me and I will give you some hints on how to color this card. We had some difficulties last night trying to figure out how to make it look like mine. The colors I used were Eggplant & Marina Mist. Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder was used for the backgroud. Scallop Trim Border Punch for the bottom of the Eggplant c/s.

This was a fun card to make! The background uses the Baroque Motif set. The Sizzix Top Note Die was used with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder. Old Olive c/s is behind the Vanilla. The saying is from the new Level 2 Hostess set Apple Blossoms. The Panies tutorial will be on your 6x6 technique sheet that you get for being part of the group. If you didn't receive one, please remind me the next time you see me. The vintage look is very popular right now. I hope you love it cuz I'll be trying more of those kinds of card styles.

More Pre-Convention & Convention fun!

This is the cute hip water proof purse that held the new catalog, Holiday Mini catalog, Convention agenda, Convention pin for our lanyard, a nice pen with the Convention logo on it, our free stamps sets & Stampin' around wheel. It also has a nice size pink metal key chain hanging from the side of the strap that says Stampin' Up!. It has lots of pockets inside and a nice pocket on the outside for my cell phone. There is also a big pocket on the back side with velcro in the middle. I received so many compliments on it since I've gotten back. Way to go SU!!

Here are my roomates Fran, Penny & of course me. Those are real wood blocks. The theme this year was Share What you Love.

These are some other very talented ladies. That were at our Pre-Convention events as Instructors. CaroleAnn, Lee, & Sandi. So glad I got to meet these ladies.

On Friday evening we went out to dinner at Little

America. It was a nice place. I won a nice stamp for recruiting and a big vellum rub-on for being I think it was #3 or #4 in sales in our Stitchedstamper group. Our group was once 70 ladies. I'm sure it has grown since then. loni is my manager on the left, Sue, Penny (joined our group for dinner), Murlynn, Pam, & me.

At Convention they had a Confectioners display. It was like walking into a candy store. I wanted to eat everything!! :) Of course I couldn't because everything was made out of paper, & embellishments from our catalog. It was a sight to see. These pictures just don't do it justice.

Have some cookie bags with the new cute Owl Punch. & the glitter brads just to the left of them.

These cupcakes look so yummy! The tree to the left is made out of buttons.

These are Stampin' Spots wrapped up like candy.

These cupcakes were one of my favorites cuz of all the bling on them. If you look closely you can see the new jewels for the Simply Adorned line on the top.

These little chocolates have the Simply Adorned items as well. The colorful chocolates are the ribbon rolled up to look like rossettes. It's making me hungry!! :)

Look at all this glass glitter and pretty flower brads, etc.Here's the chocolate brads, & paper, etc.

I had to through in some cute card samples.

These are going to be the HOT item for Christmas this year. They are decoratable recordable Christmas cards. They have their own Christmas song or you can record your own message to your loved one. They'll be in the Holiday Mini. Can't wait!!

This is the new line of quality fabric quarters that you can get in the Holiday Mini. They go a long way for crafting. Great for use in the Big Shot or not! I'm hoping to have some tutorials on my blog shortly for how to make some flowers using this new fabric. These little gift bags on the right were done up quickly on a sewing machine using the new Big Shot Die cut in the Holiday Mini. I can't think of the name off hand.These darling mini decoratable houses are also in the Holiday Mini. They come with directions on how to put them together. Wouldn't that look so cute as a decoration in your home or to give as a gift? The little candies in the dish are buttons wrapped up.

At your child's or friends' B-Day wouldn't it be fun to hand this to them as they walked out the door to thank them for coming. Chocolate is always a nice way to say thanks! Or you could always put in jerky for those that can't have chocolate.

Here are the much waited for Sizzix Die boxes. I can't wait to get mine so I can start to get organzied! They are very sturdy. The inside of the lids are so pretty! These are a must have if you own Sizzix dies!! I hope that you enjoyed the tour of my fun time at Convention. SUMMER MINI SWAP CARDS

I showed the girls in my swap group all the Summer Mini Swap cards in person. They loved them! I had a request to post the cards that I didn't get a chance to post. So here are some more. I only have a few more then I'm done. I figured it would keep me and you busy for a while.
This top card was made by Keri Blake. The stamp set is Bouquet Bunch. The little flower in the middle of the tree is from the Punch pack & is so cute!

This card was made by Shermala. She used Watercolor Trio & All a Flutter for the butterfly. The butterfly was done of watercolor paper.

I hope that you're not getting tired of seeing all these cool swap cards. King of the Grill is a new set. Maryann Myers took the Word Window Punch, punched out the saying & put it on top of the ribbon with one of the Circle Designer Brads that are retiring. They're 50% off right now. This set is great for Father's Day or if you need a masculine card.

You can never have too many masculine cards. They seem to be harder to come by. This card was made by Pam Staples. She used the Sentimental Journey set along with the designer paper that goes with it. This is a great set for vacation scrapbook pages. I'm loving the Summer Mini catalog!

The top card is made with the new Presto Patterns Specialty paper in the Summer Mini Catalog. It's inked with Eggplant Envy and Old Olive. The stamp set In a Word is also used. This card was made by Sherri Eddleblute.

This card is so neat in person.

It's using the new De`Cor Stencil called Mostly Vintage. This card was done on Kraft cardstock with Soft Suede. The Log Cabin Smooth Spray was also used. The Final Press embossing plate was used and can be seen under the ripped portion. Very classy card!. This was made by Donna Rogers.

Tropical Party stamp set used by Janet Moore. Love the Dazzling Diamonds on top of the waves. The card looks way better in person.

This card also uses Tropical Party and was made by Jennifer Valk. Love the Designer Paper that goes with this set.

Sweet Scoops Set is one of the funnest sets in the Summer Mini. There's a lot of things that can be done with this set. This cute card was made by Loni Spendlove.

This card is so adorable! I love the embossing template that Pam Clyde used in the background of this card. The stamp set is called First Day. If you have kids in school or you're a teacher this is the set for you!

SUMMER MINI CATALOG SWAP

I participated in a big Swap with my group the Stitchedstampers. We all did different cards from the Summer Mini Catalog. The cards were so great! I'm posting the ones that I've had a chance to scan so far. Thanks for the wonderful ladies that allowed me to post their beautiful work.

I don't know who The Birthday Block card was made by. If it's yours, please let me know so I can give you credit for making it.

The Happy Birthday, & Candle Crazy, Birthday Builder Wheel Card was made by Raberta Gannon.

The Elements of Style card was made by Deborah Gruesser.
This is one of my favorite stamp sets & one of my favorite cards I got in the swap.

This card uses the Watercolor Trio stamp set. I love the fonts in this set. I believe this card was made by Loni Spendlove.

Love these Graduation cards. My son is Graduating this year. Now I don't have to make a card. I can use one of these great cards. This first card uses the Happy Grad Block & the Medalion Stamp set. It's very classy looking. The card was made by Keri Blake.

I love this Melon Mambo Graduation card. For the top part Tina Taves used the feet stamp of the Go Graduate set. There's a window sheet covering that's attached to the inside of the Melon Mambo cardstock that's covering the feet. She also used the Two Tags Big Shot Die, the Scallop circle punch and the Happy Grad Block stamp for the Saying. Great Ideas!!

MAY TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP PROJECTS

I had so much fun putting these two cards together with some of the new items from the Summer Mini Catalog. This first card I CASED from Michelle but changed the Jumbo Eyelets out for the 5/16th Neutrals Jumbo Brads. The Square Lattice Embossing Folder is so neat! It makes the cardstock feel like material. I brayered the Old Olive Classic Ink onto the Embossing folder and layed the Kraft Cardstock onto the embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot. It's kind of hard to see in this picture, but there is Old Olive inside the negative portion of the card. The Stamp set is Tropical Party. The little tag is stamped with Define your life and punched out with the Med. Jewelry Tag Punch and put on with a mini glue dot. The other colors in the card are Soft Suede and Old Olive. The Ribbon is Old Olive & I used Hemp Twine to tie around the ribbon. This would make a great invitation to a party.

This next card features the Elements of Style stamp set. This is one of my favorite sets.

I'm partial to flower sets. I probably have almost all of them. This card design I found on Robin M's blog. I changed the colors of the cardstock slightly and the added brads and took away ribbon, etc. I really like how it turned out. I used the bleaching technique for the flowers. The cardstock that I stamped the flowers onto is Soft Suede. They came out looking like So Saffron. So I added the So Saffon border. The DSP is Bella Blue. I've had that sitting around forever so I'm glad that I finally got to use it. The cardstock in this card is Kraft, Vanilla, So Saffron, & Soft Suede. The brads are the Copper ones from the Vintage Brad collection. Everything was sponged with Soft Suede to give it the antiqued look. I use a Stampin' Dimentional to pop up the bird & the saying. I hope that you like these two cards.

APRIL TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP PROJECTS!!

This April at my Technique Stamp Group we learned how to do the "Black Magic" Technique. I's a lot of fun! It makes me feel like I'm back in Elementary school coloring on the black board. Take a look at this card and you'll see what I mean.

All you need is some Basic Black cardstock, The Scatter Sunshine Jumbo Wheel, & the Pure Color Pencils or colored pencils. I used an un-inked Jumbo wheel cartridge and used the Craft re-Inker on it to put in my Jumbo handle. I used a lighter color on the inside and highlighted the flowers with a darker color. I took my Uniball Signo White Gel Pen from Stampin' Up (the best gel pen that I've used!) and traced around the flowers. I put half back Pearls & some Rhinestones in the middles of the flowers. The Green Galore cardstock was sprayed with the Champagne Shimmer Mist alcohol mixture and put om the Final Press embossing folder and ran through the Big Shot. I used the Scallop Border Punch on the Orchid cardstock & put all of that on top of the Tempting Turquoise.

The next card that we did I really like. The card looks a little washed out in this picture, but looks great in person. The card is Only Orange cardstock. The stripped paper is the Bride Specialty Designer Paper. I used the brayer with Bashful Blue Classic ink and went over the Bride paper a few times verticially and horizontially until it was covered well. I put Whisper White cardstock using the Top Note Die through the Big Shot and inked the edges with Soft Suede. I used the Greenhouse Garden set which is 20% off until the end of April. The colors I used were Summer Sun, Only Orange, Orchid Opulence & Lovely Lilac. If these are colors that you like, you need to buy them before the end of JUNE since they'll be retiring. The leaves are Soft Suede using the Little Leaves die & put through the Big Shot. The bow is the Blue gingham ribbon. I also popped up the Orchid flower to give it a 3-D effect. I hope that you like it.

The cute little box is about 3" tall when it's closed. It's made with the retired designer paper that went with the current Tart & Tangy stamp set. It's made using the Petal Card Sizzix Die. Thanks to Ilina Crouse for directions on how to make the box.

MILK CARTON WITH HOLDER

My wonderful friend Sandra made this for me. I don't remember where the idea originated from since I've seen them several places. This is the Milk Carton Sizzix Die from Stampin' Up! It's in the Occasions Mini Catalog which is good through April 30th. The die measures 6" x 8-3/4" so the milk cartons are pretty small. The mild carton holder was made separately. ANOTHER BRAG BOOK

I just love these brag books! It's so fun to use different patterns of Designer paper, cardstock. & embellishments. I used the Sweet Pea Designer paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog & Pumpkin Pie C/S. I added some half pearls & some little stick on pearls from a craft store. This Designer paper pack is a must have!

This is the inside of the CD holder with more Sweet Pea DSP, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, & Sahara Sand is in the pocket. The silver ribbon holder is a piece of the Hodge Podge hardware. It's actually holding a piece of Whisper White paper.

This is the 3rd & 4th page of the book. These Sweet Pea colors are just beautiful together with the brown C/S. The embellishments are punched from the Trio Flower punch and the butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings Sizzix Embossing Folder. I believe it's exclusive to Stampin' Up! I've added some rhinestones to give it some bling.The last 2 pages are my favorite. See the cute birdies sitting on the clouds. The 3x3 envelopes are from Stampin' Up! They're so smooth & easy to work with. The C/S inside the envelopes are Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, & Bashful Blue with matching Grosgrain ribbon. So Saffron was used inside the CD pocket. I'm going to be making some more different varieties until I use up this paper pack. TECHNIQUE STAMP GROUP PROJECTS

These are the two projects that we did on Friday evening at my Technique Stamp Group at Dana's house. Stephanie was the Hostess. She earned 3 free Sale-a-bration stamp sets. a 6x6 pad of Designer paper, a Level 1 Hostess stamp set, the Level 1 Designer paper pack, a Level 2 Stamp set, & $60 in free merchandise. It was like Christmas for her in March!! We all had a great time and every learned how to make the crimped lace flower. I learned this tutorial from Patty Bennett's website.

This is a side view of my project. You can't see the candy inside, but there is a mini cello bag with a small amount of mini M&M's inside. I used the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel w/Perfect Plum cartridge on Old Olive C/S, Mistletoe Ribbon (retired), the Scallop Lace border punch, crimper, Welcome Neighbor 6x6 DSP pack of paper, Circle Ice Rhinestone brads and Big Shot Two Tags die. Ink color is Perfect Plum sponge daubered onto the crimped Whisper White paper.

The other project was an Easter card using the Big Shot embossing folder Petals-a-Plenty & the Daises Die cut. I also used the Chocolate Bunny Single Stamp & the Happy Easter from the new Well Scripted stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The colors that I used were Crushed Curry. The beads & Rhinestone were from a craft store.

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted something. I've been busy working on my Stamp Group projects and preparing for my March Scrapbook Camp.

I went to my Demonstrator meeting and we had a Shoe Box Swap. This is where we each make a project and bring enough supplies so that everyone that's coming can make the project. I had mine all ready to go and in my rush to gather everything up to run my earrands before I went I left it on my table. I was able to give everyone $.50 to make their cards that night.

I'll post a couple cards as I have time to scan them and get them ready. I don't know who designed each card, but I did stamp and put together each card.

SPRING 12X12 SCRAPBOOK CAMP

I couldn't resist putting my Stampin' Up Build-a-Bear in this picture. He's almost as cute as this 12x12 Spring layout. These pictures just don't do these pages justice. I used the Big Shot Scallop Circle dies, the new Butterfly Embosslit, Little Leaves Embosslit, The flowers are from the Eggcellent Egg Kit & a few are punched with the Boho Flower Punch. Soft Subtle brads are in the middle of the flowers. I also used pearls in the middle of the bigger butterflies & rhinestones on the smaller ones. The grass was punched with the Scallop Border Punch and cut to make it look like grass. The fence was made with the Jewlery Tag Punch. This design was inspired by Carla Brasher. These pages would be great to put your Spring/Easter/Wedding/or Baby pictures on.

GO GREEN! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S CARD

It sure took me a while to get this card figured out. I knew I wanted to do The Polished Stone Technique and I wanted to do a St. Patrick's Day card for my Stamp Group. I tried something new with my rubbing alcohol. Instead of putting the re-inkers on the glossy card stock and daubing with a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol. I took my spray bottle that had the alcohol & Champange Mist Shimmer Paint mixed together and spritz that onto the glossy card stock that already had the Green Galore, Glorious Green, & Gable Green, & Gold re-inkers on it. I got it wet enough so that I was able to move the colors around the card stock. I had rubber gloves on and used my fingers to move the gold around. I spritz it some more and moved the colors around just by holding up the card stock and moving it to where I wanted the color. When I was happy with the design I stopped. I dried it with the heat gun and then sprayed it with Krylon clear coat and let it dry for an hour. Then I used the Full Heart Punch and punched out four hearts to make a clover. I stamped the "Go Green" stamp in Glorious Green and then punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. I did marker around the edges of the circle & put a Gold Brad in the middle of the clover. Then I sponged green around the edges of the card and sponged (or you can stipple) the front. Add the rest of the paper. I used Green Galore cardstock & the Welcome Neighbor 6x6 paper pack. I also used the new border punch you can get for free from the Sale-a-bration catalog for placing a $50 order. Or you can have a workshop/catalog party with $300 in sales and earn it for free.

SIMPLY ADORNED 1 1/4" CHARM

I finally got my Simply Adorned Charm and necklace that I've been waiting for since Convention. Those of us that attended Convention got a discount on the 1 1/4" charm & the 21" chain. I love to wear the long chains since I'm so tall so I got the 34" chain instead. Since I still get the discount on the 21" chain I think that I'll still order that one too. The charms are just beautiful! Those of you who know me know that I can't stay away from the jewels or anything that sparkles. So when I saw these in person I knew that I had to have one eventually. The Charm's open from the top where the clasp is. They're magnetic so they stay closed really well. I used the paper insert as a guide to see where I wanted to stamp my image. I used the new Tiny Tags set from the Mini Ocassions Catalog. I did a little sponging with Old Olive on the edges & lightly with Razzleberry in the middle. There's a small Rhinestone at the bottom and 3 small dots of Crystal Effects with Dazzling Diamonds sprinkled on top. I did the same design twice and put it on both sides. When I have some more time I'd like to do another design for the back side. The charm turns over easily so it really needs something on both sides. I hope that you like my design. It even has my inital on it.

EASTER BRAG BOOK STAMP CAMP PROJECT

Come learn how to use CD holders to make this cute Interactive Easter Brag Book. You'll be using all kinds of Stampin' Up! supplies. There are pockets, 3x3 envelopes w/card stock colors that pull-out with matching ribbon attached. You can put pictures, poems, or journaling on these pull-outs. On the front cover we'll use the beautiful Hodgepodge Hardware & the new clear mount stamps set Well Scripted. The Designer paper is from the new Sweet Pea line in the new Occasions Mini Catalog. Valentine's Day Mini Milk Carton

I'm having a Stampin' Up! party at my mom's house with some of her friend's on Feb. 6th. She likes to take advantage of the free stamp sets that she can earn by having a $300 party in the months of Jan., Feb., or March during our Sale-a-bration event. I wanted to do a Valentine's Day project using the Big Shot and the new Mini Milk Carton Die from the new Occasions Mini Catalog. This milk carton looks like a good size in the picture, but it's very small. I just love mini things. I punched two little hearts with the small heart punch from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Next I put a window sheet behind the hearts. I stamped the box randomly with the medium flower in the With all my heart Stamp set in Pretty in Pink ink. The belly band is Very Vanilla & Sending Love Specialty Designer Series paper which has glitter on the flowers. I just love it! I used a 1/2" Library Clip on top to keep it closed. Inside are Mike & Ikes yummy Tropical flavor. We meet on the North West side of town on the 2nd Friday of each month at 6pm until between 8:30 and 9:30pm. We each take one turn being the hostess at our own home. This includes providing a snack and drink for the group. Each group member agrees to purchase $25 (sub total) from the current catalogs. The hostess for that month gets the hostess benefits which includes a minimnm of $15 of free merchandise & a free stamp set. It may be more depending on how much the party total is and what promotion Stampin' Up is running during that month. I take care of emailing the group when and where we will meet and what needs to be brought if anything more is required other than your own adhesive and scissors. I teach one new technique and one other project. You'll also get a 6x6 technique card with instructions on how to do the project that we did with a picture of the project. It will be in an SU page protector (1 pg protector every other month.) I do mainly cards or a 3-D gift giving project. Everyone is always thrilled with the items that they make. I also do Stamp Camps once a month normally towards the end of the month. These are more detailed and are usually gift giving projects. These are the 2 projects that we made last night at my Technique Stamp Group. Altered Syrup Bottle

I got this cute little syrup bottle when I went to Cracker Barrel in St. George to eat. I just loved the bottle so much I couldn't throw it away. My daughter accidentally broke one of the two bottles I got and I was very sad. I didn't know that my husband had called Cracker Barrel and tried to get me a bunch of these little bottles but they said they weren't able to sell them. We had gone back to the restaurant a month later when we were passing through there to eat and I was able to get a few more bottles. I wanted to decorate them for Christmas gifts. While I was finishing my dinner my husband went to pay the bill. He was taking so long that I went to go find out what was going on. He was talking to the clerk trying to find out how he could get some of those little syrup bottles for me for a good price. The manager would only sale them for $1.85 and we decided it wasn't worth getting the bottle with no syrup for that price. So I took what I got for free and left. When I got home I altered the bottle to make it look cute for Christmas. I used the Christmas Coco DSP, Real Red c/s, the new Scallop Trim Border Punch from the 2010 Sale-a-bration Catalog, the 5-Petal Flower Punch, 3 Gold Brads, Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint, Mat Pack & Paper Piercing tool, & some red metallic ribbon I had laying around to decorate the top of the bottle. It turned out really cute. I gave one to my Grandma that lives in Cedar City and she just loved it! Save all your cute bottles and tins, etc. and turn them into beautiful containers for gifts. ©1990-2010 Stampin' Up

This year we were a little late getting our family Christmas photo taken. My brother took it for us in his living room. He's great at taking pictures. I think it turned out great! For those that didn't get one in the mail this year here it is.

I finally decided it was time that I started my own blog. Aren't you so excited for me??? YEAH!! I had to bite the bullet and start doing Stamp Camps on my own for the last several months since my partner in crime Sandra has had a very busy family schedule that hasn't allowed us to do our camps together any longer. It has been very sad for me because I don't get to spend very much time with my good friend, but it's also been a good challenge for me to get myself organized enough to pull off a nice Stamp Camp on my own. Although it takes a lot of my time I've had very successful camps thanks to my wonderful family & friends that come and support me.
